FRI 15TH & SAT 16TH FEB 2008 - PATTAYA
The most important bike event in Thailand was an outstanding success again this year with almost 6000 bikes in attendance. The main day was Sat 16th beginning early afternoon with the Pattaya Sports complex area filling up quickly with motorbikes arriving in large numbers constantly.
The Rally ride was late starting at about 5.00pm after assembling most bikes down on the main Soi [road] leading onto the hwy leading through the Pattaya and into Nakalua before going down Pattaya's famous "beach road" and "walking street" then over to Jomtien Beach and back to the Sports complex. The Column of bikes extended about 3 klm and brought the city to a stop as all traffic was blocked at intersections as we passed by.
There was some "irresponsible" riding by some of the road bikes doing wheelies, your truly amongst them and Scott from Siam Racing found the Suzuki dirt bike more fun than picking a big bike from the showroom floor as he was constantly on the back wheel everywhere! Good Stuff!
Sat night was the main feature and with 3 stages and bands playing the theme was truly set. Good food, plenty of beer, beautiful women and thousands of bikes make for an excellent night of partying! Can't wait till next years event.
